'One Slight Hitch' by American comedian, author, playwright, Lewis Black is coming to the Domain Theatre at Marion Cultural Centre this October for a strictly limited season.

Proudly presented by the Galleon Theatre Group, the acclaimed play is reminiscent of the works of Neil Simon.

Set in Cincinnati, in the Summer of 1981, 'One Last Hitch' tells the tale of 'Doc' and Delia Coleman on the morning of the wedding day of their eldest daughter Courtney, a successful New York based writer.

The 'hitch' of the main title is the unexpected arrival of Courtney's ex-boyfriend Ryan. Then there's Courtney's single sister, Melanie who regularly hits the liquor cabinet and their teenage sister P.B., who acts as the play's narrator.

'One Slight Hitch' is highlighted with snappy wisecracks and keen social observation as the family come together on the wedding day; it's sure to be a hit with Australian audiences.

The production will be directed by Kym Clayton and star Andrew Clark, Maxine Grubel, Jabez Retallick, Laura Antoniazzi, Megan Langford, Molly McCormack and Luke Budgen.

Director Kym Clayton notes;

"Lewis Black's humour is frequently irreverent and is oh so funny! His characters are larger than life, and like any good comedy, we can see a bit of ourselves in each of them, even if it hurts!"

"Our cast is a strong mix experienced actors, who have been nominated for awards, and relative newcomers to the stage who are already making their mark. The younger cast members have greatly enjoyed the challenge of creating believable characters that belong in a period before they were even a twinkle in their parent's eyes!"
