By the look of this packed cafe on a weekend, I had to assume the food was good. Certainly the view from their deck was pretty impressive, over looking La Balsa park and gazing over peaceful azure waters. It doesn't get much better than that.

We chose a lunch special for $15. but there were heaps of choices and a few blackboard specials too, priced around $19. In fact, I was impressed with the vegetarian options, not always considered in cafes, but there were several available here.

I must admit, I was envious when I saw the size of my friend's caesar salad. Lashings of fresh lettuce, the right amount of dressing, (sometimes I've found caesar salads are drowned in dressing) but this salad came with two decent slabs of chicken breast, grilled.

It looked pretty darn good and took her a lot longer to eat than it did mine.

This was a tasty lunch but it could have been a little more substantial. If you are after a light lunch, perfect, but I was still hungry after eating. Perhaps another layer of veggies would have done the trick as the chickpea pattie was smallish. The slice of fetta cheese on top was certainly a tasty accompaniment and of course I loved the addition of the tomato, pesto and kekap manis drizzled around the side.

There were, of course, some lovely looking dishes on the various tables around us and the cafe had a lovely vibe. Everyone was happily chatting and of course, the view was spectacular. All up, a very pleasant experience. Filtered water was also freely available and this was certainly needed on such a warm winter's day.

There were also some great looking cakes too: carrot & pineapple, sweet potato cake, some gluten free treats, cheese cake and all with fresh cream. To be honest, it all looked pretty darn good to me.

This cafe is open Tuesday - Sunday from 6.30am - serving up some tasty looking breakfasts. In fact, if you take your walking shoes there is a great walk, through the park to the right and around the headland, up to the light house at Point Cartwright where you can enjoy magical views.
