One Night in Footscray is a celebration and discovery of the art spaces, galleries, venues and hidden in-between spaces within Footscray. Exhibitions, live music, performance and participatory art installations collide for one night! This free program has something to offer for people of all ages.
One Night in Footscray highlights the work of local artists, makers, emerging practitioners and students create new opportunities to encounter art in public spaces and the ways in which people experience and interpret Footscray, its people and places.
Some of the exhibits and installations include Urban Sanctuary, an inter-active multi-sensory world of relaxation and wonder, Walk on the Wildside, a LED 80s dance floor to show off all your dance moves and many other installations, exhibits and interactions. Larissa MacFarlane's Disability Pride will bring together some of Melbourne's best-known disability activists with local community, for a live and collaborative paste-up and Trocadero Art Space will present an evening of exhibitions and performances specifically commissioned for One Night in Footscray. There will also be a pop-up recording studio and art exhibitions from Victoria University and Victoria Polytechnic students. Please check out the program here.
