I am a writer and teacher, out and about in the world but with Nottingham never far from my heart.
A fast-paced, one-man romp through the hit TV series
Unless you've lived under a rock on one of Saturn's lesser moons for the last three years, chances are you've heard of Breaking Bad. Vince Gilligan's acclaimed TV series tells the story of Walter White; chemistry teacher, father, terminal cancer sufferer… and meth dealer. It also elevated lead actor Brian Cranston from "that guy from Malcolm in the Middle" to the status of "all-conquering TV star".
The show is recognised in the Guinness Book of Records as the highest rated show of all time, but this didn't stop LA funnyman Miles Allen sacrificing this particular holy cow at the altar of comedy.
In April, Allen brings his successful stage show to the Sydney Comedy Festival. Entitled One Man Breaking Bad, it's not too difficult to guess the content of the performance. A parody show which is as merciless as it is appreciative with regard to its source material, One Man Breaking Bad has been garnering rave reviews from critics and fans alike.
The show is being performed at the Seymour Centre in Chippendale from Tuesday April 21st to Saturday April 25th and is suitable for those aged 13 . This is not your run-of-the-mill comedy show, so be sure not to miss out!
