Feel the need to break the cool Melbourne nights with a great night out and be able to feel good about it afterwards?
One Girl Australia is holding their annual charity cocktail gala event, 'A Night Like No Other' on Saturday 2nd June at Smart Artz Gallery in South Melbourne. Tickets are limited to just 110 and are highly sought-after. There will be a charity auction with some phenomenal prizes up for grabs, live music, including some secret special guests (the rumour mill is really grinding about who is going to be making a special appearance), African drumming, wine, food, and importantly - fun!
One Girl is about helping girls in one of the poorest countries in the world, Sierra Leone, to finish their education. The alternative is being forced out to work, or even an early marriage, when their family can't afford to pay for school. One Girl is a new and dynamic youth-based organisation, set up by co-founders, social entrepreneurs, David Dixon and Chantelle Baxter. They do things differently to make a difference. For the cost of just one Melbourne coffee a week, they are able to support a girl to stay in school. With the proceeds of the Cocktail Gala, they are aiming to support another 150 girls to achieve their potential - something in Australia which we take for granted. So get some tickets, bring some friends, have a whale of a time and make a difference along the way.
