I eat out on the weekends at different restaurants and then write about them. Otherwise I am looking at art, cooking or gardening. Soon to be a blogger under food curator__ where you can have a visual feast.

Since its arrival in 2010, that's right only 7 years ago, social media platform and image interface, Instagram, has truly revolutionised the way we view images, how we create images and what we gain from images.

Whilst Facebook may have removed boundaries on how we connect with people and who we can connect with, Instagram has created a platform where images have become accessible to everyone. It seems to have followed the old adage that 'A picture is worth a thousand words,' or the Chinese proverb, 'One picture is worth ten thousand words.'
Not only has it allowed individuals, businesses and companies to understand consumer interests or current trends, it has first and foremost created a visual feast for the many users that access it on a daily basis.

With the plethora of images circulating on this platform from all around the world and the number of posts that are updated each day, what we may not realise is the importance of having top quality images. This is particularly important if you are seeking to use Instagram for business or service purposes, or even for those who simply want better images for personal use.
As such, you may find yourself paying services to help you create digital content for your feed, or watching YouTube videos for tips or even heading to blogs on Photoshop, to help you with editing your images. Even from a basic skill level or from basic instructions and tips, you may still find that you are not quite latching on to the software.
However, these confusing routes are no longer needed. As they say, one of the most engaging ways to learn something new is to observe someone firsthand, then to do it yourself and this could not be more true of the one-day Photoshop workshop at Digital Class.
Located conveniently a couple of minutes away from Bondi Junction Station and directly across the road from Westfield Bondi Junction, Digital Class is run by Michael, who is a wiz on Photoshop and a wonderful mentor to help you get into the software.
Digital Class Workshops are Small for Optimum Results

Running small and collaborative workshops, where you are literally sitting amongst Michael and other individuals, the class is not like your average workshop filled with large amounts of people and the instructor at the front.
Instead, Michael covers the software for beginners in an approachable and understandable manner, but most importantly with a very hands-on approach. As he goes through different topics, which are projected onto a screen, Michael guides you to do the same on your own laptop.
Also feel free to stop Michael at any time to ask him to repeat a step or to go back a few steps, if you need extra assistance. The small size classes and collaborative environment allows you to work quite informally and in a relaxed pace.

Topics covered in the workshop include:
Resizing & Cropping
Or if you have questions, no question is useless or unanswered by Michael. From simple questions like, 'What is this symbol?' to 'What tool can I use to cover my breakouts in a photo?'– Michael's patience and passion for this class is evident in his approach and his ability to have a laugh too.
You will find yourself leaving the workshop feeling inspired and with a new understanding of Photoshop. You will also probably never see an image the same after gaining an insight into how much of the images we see in our everyday, from magazines, billboards to photos on Instagram, have been edited or as they say retouched.
To end things on a practical note, with the Christmas holidays approaching, rather than just having your family portrait, how about one with your pet? Well, if you can't actually get your pet in the picture at the time, don't worry this is still possible with Photoshop, just ask Michael.
Not only is the workshop worth the time and experience, Michael's service extends beyond the class, as he also offers support once you have completed the workshop.
