Celebrate spring in Tuscany, in Melbourne
If you're love of Italian food is simply insatiable, book yourself in to experience a little bit of Tuscany in Melbourne in September at the upcoming Once Upon a Tuscan Spring dining event to be held st at both La Svolta Hampton and Prahran.

The Once Upon a Tuscan Spring dining event will be held at both La Svolta locations in Hampton and Prahran.


Celebrate the arrival of spring with a series of seven courses of authentic Tuscan dishes; including antipasti, homemade pasta, meat and dolce with sides. Topping off the experience, the courses are carefully matched with selected wine from the region.

Bookings are essential as space is limited but at $110 per person (including wines) it's a great way to learn about the cuisine and culture as well as enjoy some tasty fare. Italian wine specialist Marco Senia will be there to answer your questions and provide insight into the art of wine making.

The wine matched menu will include sweet & sour braised wild boar with polenta chips and much more.


Menu for the evening will include:

Antipasti
Antipasto Toscano -selection of Tuscan delicacies on a tasting plate (meat & cheese based)
Fritto Di Paranza - deep fried seafood selection (Paranza = fisherman's net)

Antipasto will be served with torta Di ceci - a chick pea torte

Primi
Pappardelle alla lepre - homemade pappardelle with hare ragu
Gnocchi alla viareggina - squid ink gnocchi with a seafood ragu

Secondi
Cinghiale alla maremmana - sweet & sour braised wild boar with polenta chips

Sides:
Contorno
Cavolo e patate rifatte - braised black cabbage & potato

Dolce
Castagnaccio - sweet chestnut flour, raisins, pine nuts, walnut & rosemary cake served with ricotta cream

To finish:
Ponce - Livorno coffee (coffee with aromatic rum & lemon zest)
