A basket of memories to be made
Once Upon a Time Easter The Grounds

If you're not familiar with The Grounds, then firstly let me familiarise you. Once upon a time, an old pie factory was operating in Alexandria at number 2 Huntley Street. A few years back it was transformed into a specialty coffee roastery with a research and education facility, cafe and sustainable garden.

Retaining the brick walls, The Grounds of Alexandria are a meeting place and urban sanctuary for young and old to relax and take in the ambience, both indoors and outdoors. The Cafe has its own in-house bakery and patisserie, The Potting Shed is the local watering hole, the organic garden incorporates a small animal farm, and a florist is on hand for all your floral needs. There is a very rustic country vibe here with much home-style food keeping patrons coming back for more.

With Easter approaching, there is a whole lot more to come back for. Get set for a magical 'Once Upon A Time' experience that includes roaming storybook characters, a Golden Easter Egg Hunt, loads of family fun and activities plus the biggest Easter Egg you've ever seen. A whopping 3 metre and 300 kilograms, this egg of all eggs will sit in The Cafe until Easter Sunday when a 'community cracking' will take place. Get involved and taste a bit of it for yourself.

For selfie lovers, a Humpty Dumpty wall has been built specially for you. So click away with a great backdrop, tag your photo #groundseaster and for a printed copy head to the Instagram printer. Kate Moss will be returning to The Grounds and available for selfies. In this instance, tag your pic #katemossatthegrounds and get it printed as well.

Children can participate in arts and crafts activities from 10am, watch balloon twisters, meet the Easter Bunny, enter a colouring in competition and be in with a chance to win a Faber-Castell prize pack and a $20 gift certificate.

From Good Friday to Easter Sunday inclusive, this free event will keep the whole family entertained whilst discovering the delights of the area. Timings for favourites are as follows:-

There is no need to book, just turn up and have fun. Enjoy a hot cross bun and other special Easter pastries from The Cafe, a Good Friday fish special, and drinks at the very unique oasis of the Potting Shed.

This alternative Easter spectacular that will put a smile on faces is a thank you to the community for all their support.

Have a Happy Easter.
