Love antiques? Love great cafe food? Then Tart Cafe is for you!

Give yourself a few hours when you visit this cafe which is sited in the "Camp Hill Antiques Centre" on Old Cleveland Road at Camp Hill. After finding a park on a side street (warning: you may have to walk up a hill after parking), head in store and secure a table, while trying not be distracted by the wonderful array of wares on display. If you are there for food, do not venture past the counter, or you will be lost in a maze of fantastic furniture, clothes and bric-a-brac. The building has had a past life as a picture theatre and a church, a perfect home for lost treasures.

We stopped in for breakfast and enjoyed pancakes, omelettes and a big breakfast which were all very enjoyable. The staff were also able to cater for the coeliacs in our family, with the Tart Burger being able to be made gluten free, much to my teenage son's delight and all of the items in the Big Breakfast (including the sausages) were gluten free once we swapped out the sourdough bread.

I've also dropped into the cafe for morning tea with a friend, and after browsing for unique gifts for friends and family and enjoying a trip down nostalgia lane - "I remember having that when I was growing up!" we enjoyed coffee and cake. There were lots of choices, again with plenty of gluten-free options.

The cafe is open from 9-5pm Monday to Friday and 8-5pm Saturday and Sunday. They choose to use locally sourced, organic food and fair trade food where possible. Prices range from $3.50 for cookies through to $25 for meals, while coffee and tea are standard cafe prices. Kids are also catered for, with their own special menu and if you feel like sharing, you could try a Charcuterie Board for two. As the cafe is licensed, you may also like to enjoy a lunch-time or afternoon tipple with your meal.

Tart Cafe can be found at 545 Old Cleveland Road Camp Hill and is well worth a visit. If you want to be sure of a table, especially if you are visiting with a larger group, try booking on (07) 3843 4837.
