What price are we willing to pay for love?
The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) is pleased to announce the spectacular production of the Tony Award-nominated musical Once On This Island at the Geoff Gibbs Theatre from the 16th March 2013.

Once On This Island book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty

"Once On This Island

A Caribbean flavoured, non-stop song and dance spectacular, Once on this Island tells the thrilling story of a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When he is returned to his people, the fantastical Gods who rule the island send the peasant girl on an epic quest which will test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and death.

Director Jason Langley: "Once On This Island is a magical production that draws its inspiration from The Little Mermaid story. It's a moving and beautiful tale of star-crossed lovers with an unforgettable score that will touch audiences of all ages and asks the ultimate question… what price are we willing to pay for love?"

Once On This Island runs from Saturday 16 to Saturday 23 March 2013 at the Geoff Gibbs Theatre, 2 Bradford Street, Mount Lawley. Tickets cost $45 Full; $40 Concession/Friends
