Like most people my age, I like to travel on a budget. Spending $50 a meal while you're travelling for months on end hardly seems like a useful expense – after all, you need to factor in money for sightseeing and souvenirs. That's why on a recent trip to Melbourne, I was thrilled to find a cafe that charged $6.50 a person for all-you-can-eat. Yes, that's right - $6.50 for all you can eat (in a maximum of 45 minutes).
Om Vegetarian Café, with two locations in Melbourne CBD, is undoubtedly one of the best places to get a good feed at a bargain price. The all-you-can-eat price includes two vegetarian curries (which change daily), a serving of rice, naan bread and water. While one plate was more than enough for me, the best part is you can have as many servings as you like. The set price does not include soft drinks and desserts, however they are only a couple of dollars extra.
While Om does not offer an a la carte menu, the food is absolutely delicious, and can be enjoyed by meat eaters and vegetarians alike. If you've never tried vegetarian food before, I highly recommend you give Om a try - you won't regret it!
