Sign up for Olivia's Walk for Wellness on Sunday 26 September 2021 from 8am and help people with cancer thrive. Australia's sweetheart, Olivia Newton-John is encouraging Australians to Walk for Wellness, on a day that also happens to be her 73rd birthday. What a way to celebrate, and so befitting of ONJ's generous spirit where she'd love all of you to be doing for those in need, on her birthday. This year's event will take a virtual format, allowing all Aussies to show their support for people with cancer at this fundraiser, regardless of where they're located. See the website for prizes to give you incentives like donating or raising more than $100 and go in the draw to win 1 of 5 Retreatment Botanics skincare packs valued at over $300 each; raise or donate $500 or more and receive a link to a Fireside Chat with Olivia; donate or raise $1500 or more and you'll have the opportunity to participate in a virtual meet and greet with Olivia and a signed photo of your exclusive screen time with Olivia by post and more.
You're encouraged to walk 5km in your local neighbourhood. Participants will also have access to other specialised virtual wellness activities including yoga and mindfulness, and be able to hear from the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre (ONJ Centre) on how best to support people with cancer to thrive. This is what Dame Olivia had to say - "The last 18 months has been really hard for so many people around the world - and even harder if you have been diagnosed or living with cancer through this time. That's why I wanted to make this year's fundraising walk even more special and coincide it with my birthday. I will be walking to celebrate all those who are thriving through cancer and I am asking everyone to join in and celebrate the life of the loved ones they know that have been touched by cancer."
Sponsorships and donations from this year's event will fund evidence-based wellness therapies at the ONJ Centre that help ease the side effects of cancer treatment and support people with cancer emotionally, spiritually and physically. Wellness therapies have been proven to help reduce the side effects of cancer treatment and help people cope better during their cancer journey.
Here's more of what Olivia had to say - "Wellness activities such as yoga, mindfulness, meditation and massage have been very important to me and I feel they have really helped me on my journey and that's why I want everyone to have this additional support. Coming to Melbourne for my annual fundraising walk and visiting patients at the ONJ Centre is really special to me, and I am sad I can't do it again this year. I hope everybody wants to virtually walk with me on my birthday and together we bring hope and wellness to the world." Exciting news, the top 6 fundraisers will be invited to an exclusive online morning tea with Olivia. Be sure to keep an eye on socials for more information on the event and exciting fundraising prizes.
