At you will delight in a fine selection of chocolates as well as standard favourites like chocolate éclairs and macaroons. If you try their chocolates you will find that they are indeed worthy of the title "gourmet". The fillings are intricately flavoured and subtle with nuances in texture and subtle changes to the dessert with each layer.

Try the Oliver Brown Signature Chocolate for a subtle caramel ganache filling with a little praline crunch at the base of the chocolate, which is delightfully covered in smooth velvety Belgian chocolate. The individual chocolates are sold for $3.90 each. It is well worth it.

The half walnut milk chocolate is also delightfully subtle, and filled with fresh walnut that counterbalances the smoothness of the rich chocolate perfectly.

They offer cute little mini cupcakes that are delightful for the novelty factor. They come in traditional flavours such as berries, cheesecake, strawberry and chocolate. They all have cute little sprinkles on them that seem to add to the whimsy.

You will find it hard to resist the salted caramel éclair for $6.50, however the cookies and cream $7 cheesecake and Oreo cheesecake for $8 are a bit run of the mill, while the mini black forest cake is nice, if a little overly creamy. You will find it better to focus your chocolate cravings on the real deal, those delightful little chocolates.

They make a decent coffee here and that explains why it is very popular as a take-away spot for city shoppers and workers. The coffee is strong enough without being over powering, having a nice smooth roasted taste. They do use good quality ingredients such as Bonsoy for soy coffees and they tend to get enough people ordering so that it doesn't sit on benches long enough to go lumpy – we all know the perils of a solid, lumpy (in other words, gone off) Bonsoy coffee. This is not a concern at Oliver Brown. Things are fresh and service is fast. The drinks they prepare are all made with care and professionalism (you can just tell, trust me). They have wonderful hot chocolate that is made with your choice of either milk, dark or white Belgian Chocolate. It is very smooth, rich and indulgent.

Oliver Brown also has some nice gift ideas, such as packaged chocolates, however the range is not very extensive and if the store is busy you might feel a bit rushed to decide as they are located at the entrance to the store.

Oliver Brown is the perfect place to stop by on the way home from work to relax or after an exhausting shopping trip in the city. It is wonderful to delight in some fantastic chocolate and a nice coffee. You will be glad you took some time out at Oliver Brown.
