Olive Green's Cafe

Published July 21st 2012
After an exhausting week, Saturday has always been the most waited day of the week. Most of us prefer to wake up late as a revenge for the previous five morning alarms. However, I still keep my Blackberry's alarm on at six, so I can wake up earlier in this Saturday morning. After I get my face washed then I took my running shoes and did stretching a little bit in my balcony before I went jogging.

I prefer jogging around Broadway and Chippendale even though I leave in around Town Hall. Most of streets there on Saturday morning is less crowded than the other days. There is not much activity because the pedestrians are not as many as on the weekdays, so I am able to run and listen to my iPod with uninterruptedly. Besides, Broadway and Chippendale's streets are relatively quiet compared to other areas in CBD such as, Central, Town Hall or Wynyard.

After around one hour of jogging , I'd like to reward my self with a cup of coffe and muffin or croissant as breakfast. There are several cafes alongside of Broadway, but there is one that has catched my attention recently named 'Olive Green's Cafe'.

This small cafe lies next to NG Art Gallery Central Park. I am welcomed by warm and friendly environment with the fusion of colour green and brown as their interior design. Even though the Central park itself has not completely finished yet, but city government seems already has formed the image of Broadway as the new downtown with the art gallery, cafe and central park office that line up next to each other and share the same ambience : friendly and artistic.

The Olive Green's cafe offers a different concept with any other cafes around CBD. All of the food and drink there are made from organic ingredients. They also provide gluten free products for customers who have got allergic with gluten. I ordered a cup of Classic Soy Cappuccino, everyone's favourite. The taste of the coffee is little bit different; it tastes smoother and less bitter than the regular coffee.

Moreover, this cafe also offering many other meal options for breakfast, lunch or snack. All healthy and delicious with friendly service from the barista also the big sofas inside it will make you want to come back again. After having a perfect cup of coffee and muffin, I ended up my Saturday morning ritual and get ready for relaxed, yet exciting weekend!
