Located on Macquarie Street, The Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel offers modern accommodation within walking distance to Hobart's waterfront and central business district. A selection of hotel rooms and self-contained apartments make this place perfect for couples, families and friends travelling together. What's more, the SkyBus airport express service stops directly in front of the hotel - I don't think it can get much more convenient than that!
We stayed two nights in the four-person hotel room with plush king beds. The size of the room was surprisingly huge and more than adequate for our needs. There were the usual television, refrigerator, ironing board, hairdryer and air-conditioning plus free wifi. The hotel also offers complimentary use of its onsite gym if you really must continue with your daily workout while on holiday. Otherwise, there is a bar that opens daily with happy hour in the late afternoon.

Once you step foot on the premises, you'll notice this is no ordinary hotel. It has a history and story to be told. Some parts of the building have been listed as historically important by the National Trust. The saw-tooth roofline allowed natural light into the top floor of the building for wool treatment while the double doors let farmers drive through with their agricultural products for storage. These features, as well as original floors and wool store equipment, have remained until this day. I would encourage you to walk through the hotel's corridors and common areas to view the large winnower, koerstz wool press and wool bale elevator. Of course, you'll need to be staying there to be able to do so.
