Over the October 2021 long weekend, you have the opportunity to tour the Old Wilpena Station heritage precinct at Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park. The Friends volunteer group will be hosting these free hour-long morning and afternoon walking tours on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th.
Previously a working pastoral station, you will learn about its early pastoral history while wandering through buildings and remains. The station only just ceased operations in 1985 after an incredible 135 years.
Although the tour is free, bookings are still required and can be made online via their Eventbrite website. It is suitable for all ages, so feel free to bring the whole family. Please note that you'll need to be wearing enclosed footwear during the tour.
