Another secret shared. I hope I don't regret this. I might have to book when I want to visit. Tucked away in historic Aldinga is . Want a coffee? Want a meal? Want to spend a lazy Sunday listening to live music? Need somewhere for a function? Need somewhere Kid Friendly? Hop in my car, 5 minutes later I can enjoy all these.
Sorry, us locals having been keeping it to ourselves. This is one of my favourite spots for a lazy Sunday. Sitting under the shady Moreton Bay fig tree, glass of wine in hand, live music, good friends and nice food. Or if I want someone to cook breakfast for me. Or grab a heart starter morning caffeine shot.
Your furry four legged friends are also welcome in the garden area, they will even get their own bowl to have a drink. But no wine, water only for the pooches. If the weather is chilly stay inside where it is lovely and cosy. Or on warmer days there is nothing better than sitting in the garden enjoying distant McLaren Vale Hills views. The menu changes with the seasons. I was tempted by the braised Lamb Shanks. Or do I go for the Fresh local crispy battered Fish and Chips? Made up my mind and went with a winter warming lasagne and salad. Shared a platter of dips with my friend. If you have brought the kids with you they are well looked after. Plenty of toys and a safe garden area to keep the amused. And for August and September there is a "Kids Eat Free" deal going on Monday to Wednesday. Ask the friendly staff for further details.
If you have a Big Event to plan, they can help you out with this too. Tucked away out the back are small function rooms for up to 20 people. Or book the whole venue for over 100. When you decide to jump back in the car it is only a 5 minute drive to our beautiful beaches. Do you have hazy childhood memories of spending long lazy holidays in the beach shacks down here. Relive those times. Why don't you stay a while and enjoy one of our stunning sunsets. If the weather is right you might see what I call "Human Butterflies" floating in the sky. Those daring folks who take to the skies by jumping off the Aldinga Beach cliffs with just some silk parachute to hold them up. Looks like cool fun though. Or just a quick dip in the ocean before you head home.
