Once the laneway behind the historic Claremont Picture Gardens and the Princess Theatre from 1909 through to their final demise and demolition in 1969, this beautiful lane now enjoys a new life with a myriad of eclectic small shops and boutiques.

Starting at Bay View Terrace with Tom's, the traditional barbershop, the Old Theatre Lane hosts boutiques like Modern Era through to the central Lane Coffee Shop. Next door is La Lucca, Midsummer Nights Dream, Trowbridge Framers, a Travel Store and a Hair Salon leading to the smaller laneways. The market stalls along the lane are a once-a-month event, taking place on the first Saturday morning of each month from 9.00am to 1.00pm, the next one on September 2nd, 2017.

Everything is just a stone's throw away, including the historic Claremont Hotel and eating areas interspersed around the large department stores and supermarkets.
