In the northern suburbs and looking for fresh produce from Australian farmers, then look no further - the Old Spot Hotel Market is for you. The markets are proudly presented by Farm Direct Markets SA who believe strongly in supporting Australian farmers and producers.

And what better place to hold these markets than in the Hotel car park alongside the
Little Para River, its tranquil
walking trails and Carisbrooke Park, all places where kids can play while you pick up the week's fresh groceries.

Fresh fruit and vegetables are key at any Farmers Market and the Old Spot Hotel Markets are no difference. Farmers from the Adelaide Plains regularly make their way across to the Old Spot Hotel to sell their recently picked wares, while citrus growers from the Riverland are often seen with plenty of fresh fruit.

Producers are also an integral component at local markets, and these markets have a number of them ranging from the baked goods of the Farmhouse Bakery, honey and jams, and various treats from the Turkish stall with Turkish Delights and Gozleme being real tempters.

For those also looking to grab something made-to-order to eat and drink then you won't be disappointed with coffee vans preparing some organic coffee, and a couple of stalls supporting local charities with bacon and egg sandwiches, rolls and cool drinks.

The Old Spot Hotel Markets are held every Saturday and Wednesday from 8am to 1pm, rain, hail or shine. The grounds are bitumenised which makes it easy for pulling your shopping trolley around, and most of the stalls have some sort of cover overhead to protect from the rain or sun. And if Saturday doesn't quite work for you, then why not try their sister markets at
Lightsview on Sunday, also with lots of fresh Australian produce. Further details on both markets are available from the
Farm Direct Facebook page.
