This autumn, the NSW Heritage-Listed Australiana Pioneer Village is offering a diverse range of family-friendly activities and events.
Choose from the annual Old Skills Weekend, Easter-themed fun or take a trip into the past with their Colonial school-holiday activities.
The outdoor museum is set on 28 acres of beautiful riverfront picnic grounds and managed entirely by a group of dedicated and knowledgeable volunteers.
This is a unique opportunity to view authentic artefacts, explore buildings that our Hawkesbury Pioneers once called home and also learn about daily life in the early pioneering days.
Here is what you can look forward to at The Australiana Pioneer Village this Autumn:
On the weekend of 23rd and 24th March 2019, The Australiana Pioneer Village is presenting a jam-packed program of interactive activities for all ages. You and your family will be immersed in 18th and 19th Century life through numerous demonstrations and displays.
Discover everything from popular trades and old skills to the development of transport and machinery. There will also be displays dedicated to the clothing of the era, the process of smelting, schooling, entertainment and more.
Over the weekend, the museum will be open from 10am to 4pm daily.
On Sunday 14th April, you are invited to take part in the ANZAC Sunday Ceremony beginning at 10.45am. There will be an opportunity to lay a Wreath in memory of a loved one.
On Easter Sunday (21st April) and Easter Monday (22nd April), the Easter Bunny will be making his way to The Australiana Pioneer Village. There will also be Easter-themed games and activities to enjoy. The museum will be open from 10am to 4pm daily.
On the 16th & 17th April and 23rd and 24th April, children are invited to dress as their favourite pioneer (there will be a prize for the best-dressed) and enjoy a fun-filled day of 18th-century games and crafts and also take part in a reenactment. The whole family is sure to love this grand day out!
