Nestled in an idyllic rural location but just 35 minutes from Brisbane's CBD, Old Petrie Town gives you the chance to shop your way through history.
Every Sunday between 8am and 2pm, Old Petrie Town is host to a market where you can shop to your heart's content amongst the historic buildings and monuments. If you'd rather shop inside, many of the buildings at Old Petrie Town are now home to local artisans and retailers. McKenzie's Store, a 1920s shopfront from Dayboro is now home to the confectioner, Sweet Distractions. Other specialty stores at Old Petrie Town include the Northside Naturopathic Clinic located in Coe's Cottage which dates from 1876, Ladybug Giftware in the Courthouse Building, Ethel May's Apothecary which sells aromatherapy and natural skincare products from Cobb's Cottage and Pine Rivers Photography located in ST Thomas Chapel which features a silky oak and cedar pulpit and was built in 1888 for £130.
The Pine Rivers Heritage Museum is located in the heart of Old Petrie Town and traces the history of the region from 1840. A focus of the museum is the supply role played by the Pine Rivers district in the construction of some of Queensland's iconic buildings. The Pine Rivers Heritage Museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays between 10am and 2pm.
