I have a soft spot for the in Preston. It was one of the first cafés I discovered when I arrived in Melbourne.

But it's not just a café, it's an art gallery too, displaying various works from local artists and regular music gigs are held there, there are also flyers in the window advertising local news and it's that sense of community that's really appealing.



As its name says, it was an actual fire station that's been reconverted with quirky décor and old fashioned seating so there's plenty of space to spread out.

For those looking for a bite to eat there's a good selection of cooked breakfasts, sandwiches, burgers, and salads with both gluten and vegan options or if you want something sweet and light there are plenty of snacks including muffins, banana bread and other slices.



The has become a well-known landmark in Preston. With a new extension out the back you will always be able to find a spot to catch up on the gossip and it's a nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Preston.
