Come rain, hail or shine, Canberra's indoor award winning Old Bus Depot Markets are lively, colourful and tempting. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee greets you as arrive. Whether you're interested in food or fashion, homewares or fresh produce, you're sure to find it here.
Your senses are stimulated as you stroll past food and spice stalls, queue at bread stalls, taste jams, cakes and relishes and marvel at the deli goods. Don't forget the fruit and veggies or the juice and coffee bars. If you haven't had breakfast, you can sit down to a crepe or a curry, or a sausage or a satay! They're all available.
You might not have come here to shop, but you'll most likely leave with something, be it a gift or something for yourself. You could easily be tempted by the hats and scarves, belts and jewellery, or candles, mugs, teapots, cookware and chopping boards, gifts and all sorts of other goodies.
Once you've done your shopping and had something to eat, you could always pop in next door at the Canberra Glassworks Museum and watch artists create unique pieces in the "Hotshop". Photos of artworks in the "back room", amongst all the bits, bobs and tools doesn't necessarily do them justice. This piece (below) was being prepared for exhibition. A closer look reveals that it is comprised of a multitude of glass rings held together by white plastic clips.

I have been here several times when in Canberra for the weekend, and the one time met an author there and got a book and he signed it. It is such a nice place, and each time I notice somethinf different
We love that you enjoy the Markets recently Carole. Our wonderful stallholders really ensure that there is something for everyone, and we try and spice things up with our regular theme events. The next one is Kids in the Shed!
