A retired business owner, my passions are cooking, photography and eating. I use all three of these when I write for which is on HubGarden
This year, make sure you go to OktoberFest
Oktoberfest is a huge festival held every year in Germany. I have actually attended one of these in Munich, and it was quite unbelievable! I do not normally drink, however at this festival I was somehow dancing on the table. I got very caught up in the electric atmosphere and had such a fabulous day!

Anyway, these festivals are full of light-hearted fun, entertainment, great food and beer. Now Australia's biggest and best Oktoberfest celebration returns to Perth in 2018.

The festival was originally and still is inspired by the love many people have of the traditional Bavarian great beer. This year, Oktoberfest in the Gardens Perth features the following fabulous events:

two massive big top beer halls
authentic German food stalls
roving performers
sideshow alley
silent disco
dodgeball arena
an eclectic mix of entertainment on multiple stages during the afternoon and evening

You can eat and drink almost as if you were actually in Europe. You can partake of a large selection of imported German beer, cider, wine and a range of other beverages.

Oktoberfest is so much fun!

This year, this will again be held at Langley Park and it will be bigger and better than ever! There will be two of the largest big top beer halls seen at any Oktoberfest event across the country. The beer hall will seat over 6,000 people and provides a fantastic place to eat, drink, hear and see everything that is Oktoberfest.

Huge beer hall

In order to replicate the traditional Munich festival, there will be a long list of German entertainers including a 20 piece brass band, yodellers, roving accordion players, pretzel fräuleins, and a number of other German bands on and off stage.

This main stage will feature top local bands throughout the day, as well as some great DJs who will continue late into the night.

Live bands on the main stage

This will feature nearly 30 local DJ's across a variety of genres. It will be a huge, three-channel, 1000 person silent disco which will be a focal point for everyone at Oktoberfest in the Gardens!

Oktoberfest in the Gardens will feature a live and local stage where up and coming local bands will be playing throughout the festival. The talent that will be there this year is amazing, so make sure you are there to see this!

Listening to the live music

Event master of ceremonies will be hosting a number of Oktoberfest themed on-stage games and competitions throughout the day.

There will be prizes for:
Miss (and Mr) Oktoberfest
Stein holdings
Bratwurst eating champions
Several other traditional Oktoberfest games

In the spirit of the festival, make sure you dress up and get involved, as it's always a highlight of the day.

Oktoberfest in the Gardens has some great performers ranging from the ridiculous to the amazingly talented. Here there will be:
Circus performers
Mime artists
Many more performers roaming the grounds

For those of you that are still young at heart, there will be a sideshow alley for a bit of extra fun. Perhaps you could get in some target practice, bumper cars or a thrilling ride? Whatever you choose to do, there is something for everyone at Oktoberfest in the Gardens.
