These venues know how to throw a party - join in the Oktoberfest festivities and celebrate all things German!

1. Hofbrauhaus, 18-28 Market Lane, Melbourne
Celebrating Oktoberfest in Melbourne since 1968, this year, the party gets bigger and better at Hofbrauhaus. Starting from September 20th, the celebrations include live music, keg tapping and stein carrying competitions, and runs through to October 12th.

Traditional pork, beef and poultry dishes, rich with gravy and served with your choice of dumplings, potato pancakes, Spatzel pasta, onions or sausages. 15% discount on drinks for students every day! When the music starts, so does the dancing! Drink well, eat well, relax, have fun.

2. Oktoberfest in the Gardens, Birrarung Marr
Now in its fourth year, Oktoberfest in the Gardens hosts a massive outdoor beer hall, six bars, authentic German food stalls, roving performers, traditional German entertainment, competitions and a long list of bands and DJ's playing throughout event.

Tickets from $45.50 (plus booking fee) can be bought here. Ticket includes entry into Oktoberfest in the Gardens, a free beverage of your choice, and a commemorative stein (560ml). October 25th from 2-10pm.

3. Munich Brauhaus, 45 South Wharf Promenade, South Wharf
A traditional Bavarian bierhaus, where patrons can dine, drink and party like Oktoberfest never ended. The six-week Oktoberfest celebration, begins on September 19th. Imported beers and Bavarian food favourites including pretzels, pork knuckle, hotdogs, and bier mussls, will have your thirst and appetite sorted.

Munich Brauhaus will host the final of the Hunt for Prince and Princess of Oktoberfest on September 28th, from 4-6pm. Enter for your chance to compete in the national final where the winner will receive $5000 cash! Drink specials, competitions and a people's choice champion on the day.

4. European Bier Cafe, 120 Exhibition Street, CBD
Specialising in European and boutique biers with over 50 varieties, including 20 on tap, the European Bier Cafe will celebrate Oktoberfest on October 3rd, 10th and 17th. Specials on Bavarian biers and cuisine, traditional dancing and live Oompah bands. Tickets are $35, which includes a traditional German bretzel, a litre of German bier and a take-home stein.
