Oktoberfest festivities in Melbourne start in September - join in and celebrate all things German!

1. Munich Brauhaus, 45 South Wharf Promenade, South Wharf
A traditional Bavarian bierhaus, Munich Brauhaus offers a venue where patrons can dine, drink and party like Oktoberfest never ended.

The six-week Oktoberfest celebration, kicks off on Friday September 18th with a keg-tapping party - with free bier for everyone until the first keg runs dry! If you can't make the 18th, you can join Tap That celebrations every Thursday through Sunday during Oktoberfest.

Imported beers and Bavarian food favourites including pretzels, pork knuckle, hotdogs, and bier mussels, will have your thirst and appetite sorted. There's even Sunday Family fun day were mum and dad can enjoy a stein or few while the kids are entertained with Bavarian games, face painting, entertainment and cookie decorating. See you there!

2. Hofbrauhaus, 18-28 Market Lane, Melbourne
Living up to their slogan "Das Original und das Beste", Hofbrauhaus has been celebrating Oktoberfest in Melbourne since 1968. The party starts from September 20th and runs through to October 12th, with live music, drink specials, keg tapping and stein carrying competitions, and traditional Bavarian cuisine.

3. European Bier Cafe, 120 Exhibition Street, CBD
Specialising in European and boutique biers with over 50 varieties, including 20 on tap, the European Bier Cafe will celebrate Oktoberfest on October 9th and 16th. Your $35 entry ticket will get you entry into the Bier Hall, manned by our staff clad in Bavarian costume; entertainement from a live Oompa band; a Stein full of Bier, a large Brezel; $20 refills, and traditional Bavarian fare for purchase.

4. Oktoberfest in the Gardens, Birrarung Marr
With over 7000 people celebrating last year, Oktoberfest in the Gardens hosts a massive outdoor beer hall, six bars, authentic German food stalls, roving performers, traditional German entertainment, competitions and a long list of bands and DJ's playing throughout event.

Tickets from $54.90 (plus booking fee), includes entry into Oktoberfest in the Gardens, a free beverage of your choice, and a commemorative stein (560ml). Friday October 23rd (4pm-11pm) and Saturday October 24th (2-10pm).
