Oishii Restaurant

One of the highlights of any trip to the Hunter Valley is a meal at in the Tempus Two Winery. There are so many reasons to visit this restaurant, the food only being one of them.
The restaurant is Thai and Japanese, and both cuisines are done exceptionally well. The interesting combination came about when Thai woman, Bo Lorchaiwet, moved to Australia and successfully opened a number of Thai restaurants. Eight years later she turned her interest to sushi and success soon followed. She was approached to open an Asian restaurant at Tempus Two, and rather than choose one cuisine over the other, a decision was made to offer both, and success again followed. It is the only restaurant in a winery that offers freshly made sushi, and in the hot summer weather, that is the perfect meal.
The Thai specialty, Panaeng Duck Curry, is hard to pass up, but it's also the perfect restaurant to cater for vegetarians. There are plenty of delicious Japanese entrees to keep everybody happy as well.
It is also the ideal restaurant for those with children in tow, not only because there is something on the menu for everyone, but because it is the only restaurant I know of in the wine region that opens at 5pm for the dinner seating. This is even early enough for you to eat a proper meal before heading to the
Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights for the evening.
The other reason it appeals to those with children, is if you book an outdoor table, the kids can make the most of the expanse of lawn between the restaurants and the vines. You can leisurely linger over a bottle of wine without worrying about annoying other diners, and there'll be no complaint from the kids either!
Enjoy a leisurely meal in a restaurant that's sure to become a favourite with all the family, and remember, it's no coincidence that oishii means 'tasty or delicious' in Japanese.
