Oaklands Estate Reserve's been given an upgrade - come & see
Come along to the Oaklands Recreation Precinct on Saturday, 25 May 2019, from 11am to 1pm and celebrate the official opening of Oaklands Estate Reserve's upgrade.
Together, City of Marion and the State Government's Fund My Neighbourhood Program have invested $825,000 in the upgrade of Oaklands Estate Reserve, which now includes 2 km of paths, nature play areas with plenty of climbing opportunities, a new playground and 3 shelters with 2 barbeques. Best of all, the Japanese garden has been reconstructed and now contains water and sand play areas and some beautiful art installations honouring Oaklands Estate's Kaurna and European heritage.
Oaklands Estate Reserve's official opening will be a full-scale celebration, offering a free barbeque lunch, complimentary coffee, kite flying, face painting, orienteering, arts and crafts using natural materials. While you're there, explore the other areas which form the 12 hectares Oaklands Recreation Precinct (Oaklands Wetland, Recreation Plaza, Education Centre and Rotunda).
