Are you always on the lookout for wonderful places to take your furry friends to have a run, or a leisurely walk if that is the preference? Well the town of Healesville, in the Yarra Valley, homes a special little spot for you to visit!
Gorgeous view from one of the bridges over the lake!
The park is located on the grounds of the Don Road Recreation Reserve, which also hosts the local footy ground, as well as the local soccer and netball grounds and their club rooms. The lake walk and off lead area for the dogs is well away from all of the sporting activity though, so there is no need to worry about an erstwhile ball of some description intruding into your fun!
You will find a lovely little lake, surrounded by rocks and shrubbery, as well as a few ducks swimming gracefully in the lake! There is a gravel track around the perimeter of the lake, as well as a few wooden bridges which lead to picturesque viewing areas.
As an added feature there are also exercise benches along with information boards to demonstrate some of the stretching exercises you can utilize the equipment for. This is such a thoughtful and handy addition to the reserve.
Greetings Nikki. Enjoyed reading your article and looking at the photos. This is the type of article that I am writing onat the moment. I won't write on the Don Road Reserve, but it sounds like a nice place to visit.
Regards, Neil Follett.
