Event:
Biggest Moon In Nearly 70 Years
Grab your calendar and put a big circle around Monday night the 14th of November and keep everything crossed for a clear night sky.

Why? Because this month's full moon will be an "extra-supermoon"

An extra-supermoon occurs rarely. It's when a supermoon's orbit is closer to Earth than normal. The last time an extra-supermoon was seen was on the 26th of January 1948 - nearly 70 years ago!

Low-hanging full moons create what's known as a 'moon illusion': the rising moon appears unusually large when coming up over the horizon.

The next time an event like this is estimated to happen will be in November 2034. So - charge those camera batteries up, put your tripod on the car and pack the thermos with some coffee and enjoy the free show that Mother Nature will put on for all of us.

If you're planning on viewing the November 14 supermoon, be sure to get somewhere nice and dark, away from the lights of the city, The top of a hill with uninterrupted views to the east would be ideal. If in the city, find somewhere elevated - the top storey of a building if you can manage it.

Moonrise on the 14th of November 2016 will be at 7.32pm.

All we can hope for is a clear sky for optimum viewing and photo taking - keep your fingers crossed for a super night out!
