I'm a quirky singer/songwriter living by the sea on the Gold Coast in Australia. Part crazy cat lady, part foodie, part Lady Gaga fanatic (she follows me on Twitter!), part world traveller. Oh, and I like writing too. Hi!
During my recent trip to Singapore, I spent a lot of time eating and wandering around Clarke Quay and often found myself at Octapas, which is right on the waterfront.
Its perfect views of the peaceful Singapore River with constant boats gliding back and forth, the beautiful vibrant colours and sparkling lights as night falls, and the polite and welcoming waitstaff are just some of the good points of this restaurant.
Other plus points are that it serves dinner before most of the other restaurants in Clarke Quay which comes in very handy when you have an awkwardly-timed International flight later in the evening.
Oh! And the food! Deliciousness a'plenty and you can choose whether to stuff yourself with the vast array of meals or alternatively, nibble on some lighter fare and share some (oc)tapas with friends.
I tasted my first mocktail here too, and subsequently became slightly addicted. I can no longer abide by a simple Coke or lemonade when I can have an Asunto - strawberry puree, orange juice, cranberry juice and soda! Can you blame me!? As someone who does not drink alcohol, this was my first time actually perusing the drinks menu.
