Located across the road from Narrabeen Beach is Oceans Narrabeen. With its expansive front open windows and just a stone's throw from the beach, you can't help but inhale the endless fresh ocean breeze revitalising your lungs and spirits.

Opening 1 December 2014, this cafe has already become a local favourite. It's the first venture for husband and wife team, Carlie and Jeremy Maudson. Both have put all their love and effort into creating the perfect seaside eatery for locals and visitors. Jeremy is a talented builder and has put some thought into what materials to use and in some areas he has managed to use recycled timber found at railways to create some uber cool finishes.

Embracing a beach shack chic design aesthetic, the interior also has some elements of retro industrial design with bare metal ceiling pipes, timber beams, brick facing and the popular exposed edison bulbs. Lots of brick and timber warm this open space and really suit the open air venue.

You can choose to sit outside on a bench watching the world go by or gaze across the road and catch a glimpse of the ocean.

Inside there is a feature wall of bricks and artwork adding some texture and colour to the airy space. There's plenty of seating choice with a few low table settings and also high timber benches edging along the open windows. The benches overlook the street out to the beach, which is ideal for larger groups or for having a few drinks.

Since opening in December, Oceans continues to delight its fans with simple well executed food and cheerful service. Menus cover breakfast, lunch, afternoon and dinner sessions with a focus on healthy and tasteful ingredients in large or smaller portions to suite any appetite.

You can walk in off the beach and grab some quick pre-made meals, order some take away or pull up a chair.

As I only had limited time when visiting, I ordered a quick Thai Noodle Salad and a creamy Mango Smoothie for lunch.

There was a series of delicious looking dishes coming out of the kitchen while I was there too.

Breakfast has several options to satiate all preferences and includes the usual favourites and healthier items.

This is not just a basic cafe of pre-made and slap up burgers, you can sit down and order from more substantial dishes for lunch or dinner. Plenty of delicious options to choose from.

Accompanying the menus is a good selection of Imported Beers, Cocktails and an extensive wine list too. Mocktails price at $7 and full Cocktails like a Lychee Bellini from $10 and your classic Mojito ar $12. A good selection of White and Red wines from SA, NZ, WA and NSW. Glasses start at $7. You can even order a bottle of Pol Roger if you are feeling like a top splash of Champagne. If you only have drinking on your mind, then you can while away the afternoon or evening grazing something light from their tapas menu. Also keep in mind that on Sunday afternoons from 3pm they have some live music or DJ playing some nice afternoon chill out beats. Keep up to date by liking their Facebook page as their website isn't complete yet.

Narrabeen not only has pristine sand and ocean to enjoy but plenty of other activites too.

If you don't want to swim in the surf, you can walk on the endless sandy beach as far as Manly or further north up through the bush tracks past Warriewood to Mona Vale beach. There is also a wonderful lagoon for the kids to go swimming or fishing in right off the beach, just a 5 minute walk from this cafe.

Further across the lagoon is Narrabeen Lakes, home to boatie and kayak lovers with an amazing Lakeside Bush trail for walking or cycling that winds around the Narrabeen Lake as far as Cromer. Soon the bush trail will completely surround the lake past Cromer to Oxford Falls back down along Wakehurst to Narrabeen. Not forgetting Narrabeen has many other great cafes, restaurants and shops to explore, so it is well worth a day visit or even make a whole weekend of it. You can stay at the nearby Sands Hotel or at the Sydney Lakeside Holiday park in a caravan for the night if you want more casual accomodation.

So come down to Narrabeen check out the new Oceans and enjoy.
