A festival that gives hope to our spectacular oceans

This March, Bondi Pavilion will come to life with an extraordinary celebration, that will inspire and entertain. The Ocean Lovers Festival is a celebration of our oceans, as well as celebrating ideas, art, music, actions, and showcases of solutions with some of the latest innovations, science, and state-of-the-art technology that helps our spectacular oceans.

There will be a jam-packed program of free and ticketed events throughout the festival, with events including art, films, music, food, talks, market stalls, workshops, and more.

Events at the festival include:

* Films:

There will be a mix of inspiring ocean-loving movies from sport to science, impact to exploration, as well as some of the best films ever made. Some of the film events will include interactive panels.

Films at the Festival will include:

Film Screening- The award-winning documentary explores what the future could look like in 2040 if we embraced the best solutions already available to us to improve our planet and shifted them into the mainstream.

There will also be free expert oceans forum with expert speakers, interactive public discussion, and audience participation is welcome.

Land of Oz- Oceans Episode- Most of Australia lies underwater. Its marine wilderness is double that of its landmass. Journeying in this episode through Australia's three surrounding oceans and their islands, we discover an explosion of life in the cold, spectacular southern-sea, the sanctuary of the Pacific and the Indian Ocean with its awe-inspiring predators.

After the film, there will be Q&A with Underwater Cinematographer Jon Shaw.

Ending Plastic Pollution- Activate is a six-part National Geographic documentary series about Global Citizen's efforts to eradicate extreme poverty by 2030. Each episode delves into a different issue connected to poverty as world-renowned artists like Hugh Jackman, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Pharrell Williams; corporate leaders like P&G; grassroots activists and impacted people work to ignite change.

* Live Music

There will be a wide range of live music entertainment starting at 1pm (21 & 22 March) in the Festival Hub, Pavilion Courtyard, performances, festival wrap party, and DJ's throughout the Festival.

* Workshops & Activities
There will be a wide range of free ocean-loving workshops, including family-friendly and hands-on activities, including STEM crafts, live podcast recording with Q&A from whale experts, a pop-up library, and more.

* Panels & Talks
These events will include thought-provoking speakers, Ocean Free Lab, talks from world experts, panel discussions, deep-dive science talks, Women of the Ocean stories, inspiration and idea talks, and more.

* Indigenous Coastal Care Walks
This event will allow you to walk in the footsteps of the oldest surviving culture on earth with Kadoo Tours. The event will reveal ancient environmental care and culture practised by the Yuin Nation people, understanding the Australian coastline and conservation through first people's perspective and conservation practice, and discover native bush tomatoes, rosella, wattle seed, lily pilly, and more for bush tucker tastings included.

There will also be opportunities to explore beneath the waves at North Bondi Beach without getting wet with the Australian National Maritime Museum uber-cool underwater drones or Rock Pool Discovery Tour.

The festival will also showcase many other events, including exhibitions, art-science, photography, Paddle Out for Protection, Big Bondi Beach Clean, Climate Change Forum, food, entertainment, amusements, and much more.
