If you're thinking of heading to Bondi Beach as the weather starts to heat up, I recommend going on Sunday November 25 so you can enjoy the Ocean Pacifika Festival. The annual event offers a fun (and educational) experience that celebrates Ocean Care Day, the coming of summer and the cultures of the Pacific Islands. It is presented by the Bondi Pavilion and will be held in the building's forecourt, directly behind the beach. The event will run from 11.00am to 4.00pm, with the entertainment beginning at 12.00pm. The festival costs nothing to attend.



There are many reasons to stop by this year's Ocean Pacifika Festival. You will find music and dance from the Pacific Islands, children's craft workshops, arts and crafts stalls and a number of information and environment stalls that will teach you about our beautiful oceans and how you can help keep them this way. At the Marine Discovery Centre 's touch tanks you can get up close and personal with sea creatures, or you could go for a walk among the rock pools or assist in a beach clean up. Kids can even enjoy meeting a mermaid or Venus the inflatable whale.
