This film festival is presented by Adventure Reels and is "
designed to mesmerise and enthral" patrons!
This world tour will feature more than two hours of fascinating footage taken above and below the surface of the water.
It is a selection of short films showing us the beauty and
might" of the ocean, and it recognises the efforts and work of the divers, surfers, swimmers and oceanographers who live for this kind of work. They are continually chasing the large waves and are always engaged and fascinated by the mysteries of the oceans throughout the world.
This is a world tour and the vision of the makers is to inspire the viewers to "
explore, respect, enjoy, and protect our oceans". Film is the main reason for the World Tour and organisers aim to share the best films from around the globe with various audiences.
In March 2018, the World Tour will show over 2 hours of the most "
inspirational, educational and entertaining films" related to the world's oceans and these films will be made by both independent filmmakers and international as well as Australian people.
The World Tour includes a unique selection of films of varying lengths and styles covering topics such as:
The oceanic environment
Marine creatures
Ocean related sports
Coastal cultures
Ocean lovers
The public have been invited to submit their films for this event, so it is a festival that is open to all, and if your film is chosen, you would receive royalties!
The films feature spellbinding cinematography, complete with incredible underwater scenes and large waves captured in an incredible way and from difficult and sometimes unbelievable vantage points.
Inspiring and thought-provoking, the World Tour is filled with some moving footage, interesting and informative interviews, and valuable narrations. Each of the festival's films conveys a deep appreciation for the world's oceans and the all the engrossing creatures that call the oceans their home.
At the World Tour work is done with local conservation partners to help support the important work they do in order to keep our oceans clean and safe. In 2017 the following organisation worked on ocean conservation:
The Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS)
These people are the voice for Australia's ocean wildlife. They're an independent charity and are manned by a dedicated group of professional and ardent "
scientists, educators and advocates" who have been looking after the welfare of the Australian oceans for some 50 years.
AMCS works on the big issues concerning these oceans and their main focus is:
To create large marine national parks (marine sanctuaries)
Make our fisheries sustainable
Protect and recover our threatened ocean wildlife, such as our sharks, seals and whales.
The Project AWARE Foundation
This is a growing movement of scuba divers who are protecting the ocean, with one dive at a time in mind.
Project AWARE supports many global organisations of divers who are working in their own communities to protect oceans and implement lasting change, while focusing on two major ocean issues – Sharks in Peril and Marine Debris, or trash, in our vast ocean.
Therefore $1 from every ticket sold to the Australia screenings in Adelaide, Sydney Orpheum & Riz, Perth, Melbourne and Hobart will be donated to Project AWARE to support their important work.
Sea Shepherd Australia
Sea Shepherd is a non-profit conservation organisation which is very well known and whose aim is to stop the destruction of "
habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans" so that we can conserve and protect ecosystems and species.
Sea Shepherd Australia, as we often read about, use innovative tactics to "
investigate, document and take action" when necessary to expose the illegal actions on the Oceans.
