"Occult is a free zine that will introduce you to the Brisbane* arcane vortex of creative talent and engrossing individuals - people who will stretch your mind with their warped and penetrating works."

is keeping it real with Brisbane based stories, interviews and reviews about local talent and Oc-culture. Released bi-monthly on multi-coloured-dream-coat inspired paper, Occult is stocked in various Brisbane cafes and social hubs. Now up to their fourth issue, Phoebe Golden and Becki Kenworthy are the editors, curators and masterminds behind Occult.

Occult came together in 2012 with a vision. Their vision encompassed something like this "To tap into the underground creativity of Brisbane and beyond, and share our mysterious understandings through a stack of colourful pages." Their talent to collaborate and discover noteworthy aspects of Brisbane has proven to be a success, interviewing artists such as Millions , Mitzi , Loon Lake, Velociraptor , Gung Ho and more… not bad ladies!

This month's issue will keep you well informed about Mitzi's movements, Soot the label's founding, the urge to throw expensive items off bridges, and why eating fruit is a formidable experience for some. Occult leaves the final words to Colonel Sanders, because if a man can make some sweet fried chicken he clearly knows his stuff. This golden fourth issue has given me some serious '90s nostalgia, with references to The Simpsons, Seinfeld, Gameboy's and Colonel Sanders, and if you're a Harry Potter fan get involved on the eternal quest with a hidden reference in each zine.

But wait, you don't have to be a Brisbanite to join the cult, save the planet and check it out here online all over the globe… http://issuu.com/occultmagazine/docs/issue_four.
