Obi Lookout and Witta Scenic Route

Obi Lookout in Witta near Curramore is a lovely vantage point to observe scenic views of the Obi Valley. On a clear, sunny day, the valley gleams under the sun and looks serene. This lookout is located in a sequestered area where cattle graze on green pastures close by.
There is a table, seats and a grassed area for picnics but there are no bathroom facilities or rubbish bins provided. I've been here a few times and have not encountered other people.
Witta Scenic Route
This walk begins and ends at Obi Lookout. Park your car at the lookout and set off on this 5km loop starting at Shultz Rd. It takes about an hour to an hour and a half depending on your fitness level. The walk is not hard and is mostly on flat terrain with a few easy hills. This is not a proper walking trail but a walk through the streets of Witta where there are no footpaths.
I've done this walk a few times and have found Witta to be a very quiet and delightful part of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland with a well-preserved heritage. I've never encountered any walkers along the route and the air is always fresh and invigorating. There is not much shade, so wear a wide-brimmed hat.
To start the route, make a right exit out of Obi Lookout on Shultz Rd. Turn left onto Curramore Rd, take a left onto Cooke Rd and then left onto Teutoberg Ave which joins Shultz Rd where you began. Turn left and walk back to the lookout. You can view the trail
here .
Along this walk, you can also view the undulating hills of Conondale from Cooke Rd, and if you go in the evening you can marvel at the glorious sunsets over Conondale. The remaining part of the walk along Shultz Rd back to Obi Lookout has more expansive views of the Obi Valley.
