If you're looking to enjoy a fun community occasion this weekend, then you might want to pop along to the annual
Oatley Lions Village Festival, which is going to be held on the 17th of October.
From 8:30 am to 3:30pm, Frederick Street, Oatley Avenue, and the North and South Memorial Parks will come alive thanks to its array of attractions and entertainment.
For starters, there will 170 stalls selling all sorts of food, crafts and novelty items. So whether you want to pick up some second-hand bargains, buy some used books or try some Turkish gozleme, the southern suburb of
Oatley will have what you're looking for.
Once the shopping is out of the way, you'll be able to savour the thrills of 'side show alley', partake in a pie eating competition, get your face painted, practice your baby talk at the animal farm and indulge your rebellious side with a Harley Davidson bike ride.
And while all that's going on, there will be non-stop live entertainment, with dance groups, belly dancers, jazz combos and brass bands performing on a couple of stages.
Off-street parking will be available at the Georges River College campus in Hurstville Road, about 200 metres from the action. But for those planning to take the train,
Oatley Station is even closer.
