More Trash Than Treasure?

Oakleigh Rotary Market is held every Sunday between 8am-1pm and has been established since 1989. This is a trash and treasure market that also stocks a wide range of cut flowers, fruit, vegetables and plants which include herbs and fruit trees.

Oakleigh Market

The market has over 100 stall holders, but this varies as stalls come and go and people use the market as a garage type sale, to get rid of their unwanted items.

Though most items I would say are more trash than treasure, you would be able to hunt out a bargain that is more of a treasure. Items are priced to sell and we did pick up a few nice English match box cars for $2 each, fresh apples, some flowers and some children's clothes, so overall we didn't do too badly, however, I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this market.

Fresh Flowers

Stalls are available for around $20 so it could be a great way to get rid of your unwanted items and make a bit of extra cash without having a garage sale at home.

The market is run by Oakleigh Rotary and the money from the stall sites goes straight back into the community.

Entry and car parking is free.

The market is located in a car park on Hanover Rd, directly opposite Oakleigh's main shopping precinct.
