Attracting more than 15,000 people, this is a celebration of mammoth proportions. Put it in your diary and join in for a fun weekend of our multicultural society presented by
The Greek Orthodox Community of Oakleigh & District and Oakleigh Grammar. Held over 2 days (
Sat 2 Nov 12–10pm & Sun 3 Nov 12–7pm) at
Warrawee Park, Atherton St (corner Drummond St) Oakleigh, this free two day event highlights the local community's rich Hellenic culture including the commemoration of the official
Greek National Day known as '
Ohi' and the Patron Saints of Sts Anargiri.
Enjoy Mediterranean and Greek food along with crowd-pleasing music and dance performances on the main stage. An international headline Greek act (yet to be announced) will be in the wings. This event is by no means just a
Greek Festival with
Saturday featuring multicultural entertainment from around the globe. A
Cooking Stage will also be set up featuring
cooking demos from 12pm with presenters from the popular
Masterchef TV series. If you love your
Loukoumade (Greek doughnut), you're in luck. Both days will host the
Loukoumade Eating Competition which will challenge you to eat 30 of them in under 15 minutes.
Enter at the Information Tent on the day.
Head to the event page
discussion section to comb through a plethora of information and prizes to be won.
Sign up to Oakleigh Central before 17 Nov 2019 10pm for a chance to win a $1000 gift card. Entering the
Oakleigh Glendi Raffle seems to open the doors to winning various vouchers and prizes with the 1st prize a return airline ticket for 2 to Greece. You can apply on the weekend of the festival or email
