Thinking up things to do in Adelaide, and making life a bit more fun.
Event: -
If you're looking to do something more than just an easter egg hunt this Easter Long Weekend, then why not head along to the Oakbank Easter Racing Carnival.

Rather than regular races all about punting and the fashions, Oakbank has something for everyone. It's an event where families can bring along kids for a picnic and some rides, and adults can socialise and watch the races from private marquees.

Starting at $130, the special packages offer a range of ways to enjoy the races in style.

The Young Members Marquee offers bus transport to and from Oakbank as well as brunch, cocktail food, gourmet pies, and an eight beverage drinks package. The marquee is a great place to watch the races, in the centre of the course, and when you're not enjoying the races a live DJ. The Young Members Marquee is $130 per person.

If you're after the 5 1/2 hour drinks package instead, and a premium buffet lunch with grazing platters and more, then perhaps you'll be more interested in the Punters Retreat. It's $190 per person for the Punters Retreat, or for $200 per person you can get a seat in one of the Grandstand Corporate Boxes. If it looks like rain you'll have nothing to worry about because you'll be comfortable inside, but unfortunately drinks will cost you an extra $45 per person.

You can also hire out private marquees for a minimum of 50 people, which are great for big groups or work functions. You'll be catered for in your own trackside marquee. There are also drinks packages available for just a bit extra.

This isn't the only way to experience the races. Come along with family or a group of friends, and set up your own spot. You can bring along your own marquee or just some deck chairs. Car parking is free, so drive on in and find a spot.

Enjoy the carnival festivities by taking the kids on rides, or perhaps you'll come across the roving entertainers. You can bring along your own picnic lunch, or buy from one of the many food trucks filled with the usual carnival food.

The Oakbank Easter Racing Carnival is a fun place for teens, and many will meet up with their friends on the day too. Many families have been coming to the race for years, so why not make it your tradition?

Prices for General Admission are:
Adults: $30 per day
Pensioner Concession: $20 per day
Family Pass: $60 per day (two adults and children U/18)
Children 13-17: $10 per day
Children under 13: Free

So whether you're planning on watching the races, or just wanted a great Easter get together with friends and family, add the Oakbank Easter Racing Carnival to your calendar.
