There has always been a close relationship between art, artists and nature. The is a way to explore and deepen that relationship. Come and immerse yourself for a whole day in an idyllic private Eucalyptus woodland with soaring gum trees, native plants and animals, and beautiful wildflowers.

Experience moments of deep calm and insight, connect with nature, engage your senses and enhance your creativity with a forest bathing session at the workshop. This contemplative practice is inspired by the Japanese activity called 'shinrin yoku', and is also called nature or forest therapy. With a focus on slowing down and awakening the senses, this restorative wellness practice involves a series of guided invitations to help relax, slow down, become present and make contact with nature. The experience invites room for listening and reflection, for quiet and accepting presence, and for inquiry through all the senses.

Research shows that spending regular time in nature improves creativity amongst many other benefits. Spend the day unfolding, discovering, noticing, exploring with nature as a partner and a Nature Connection Guide. The palette of nature will present itself and you are invited to be creative: tree poetry, mandalas, walking meditation, sit and spot, using nature's mediums and more activities.

You will need to bring your own lunch, water and journal or sketchbook. Please note that a small section of the terrain at the workshop is a bit steep but suitable for people of most mobilities.

Of most interest in this workshop is the ability to increase creativity through spending time in nature. Humans are a member of the amazing community of life on this planet, we are inseparable and intimately connected with it. For aeons, humans have used nature as inspiration because it is a part of us, as much as we are a part of nature. From ancient rock paintings to Constable's landscapes to Andy Goldsworthy's nature sculptures; from artists who support nature conservation work to a dedicated Nature in Art Gallery and Museum, art and nature have a long and intertwined history.

This workshop is a way to explore and/or deepen your own creativity in and with nature. Whether you are a professional artist, or simply wishing to explore your creativity, this workshop offers a safe, non-judgmental setting immersed for a whole day in this tranquil woodland near Meadows.
