This is a large market. 98 stalls, indoor, outdoor, and undercover.
It is located outside and inside the Whitehorse Council Civic Centre on Whitehorse Road, Nunawading. (Melway8. G.9.)
The market’s motto is “Make It, Bake It, Grow It.
The most numerous stalls would come under the category of make it, including jewellery, soft toys, wood items and clothing.
Margaret’s Machine Embroidery is one of many unique products offered. Her soft toys and clothes are embroidered with motifs and names. A great gift for a little one, with their name on it.
Dinosaur Taxidermy is more than unique and a new product to me. They are framed butterflies, insects, spiders etc. The subjects are real ones who have passed their use-by date.
Richard was selling restored photo prints of old Melbourne. He has a fascinating range showing how Melbourne looked over 1000 years ago.
The Basket Case showcased a range of baskets for every purpose, even a home for a teddy.
Market Delights sounds tasty, but you can’t eat them. They are delightful fretsaw cutouts and framed.
Wooden products are always the work of a true artisan. Hand-crafted pens and clock holders looked unique.
Samantha had a range of material hats and a unique product of playing card holders, all expertly sewn together.
The winner in the Bake It category would have to be Cinnamon Scrolls. Their sign says they are soft, fluffy and incredibly delicious. They are as I tried one. If a baked item can melt in the mouth, then this is one.
Fergy’s Artisan Breads appear in many markets and always attract customers.
Perhaps not all baked, but edible canine treats from Kim’s K.9 Cookies looked appetising to the most fastidious doggie.
Almost essential at a market is the coffee van.
Entry and parking is free, with a large off-street parking area.
Markets, particularly artisan ones are a great source of gifts for someone who thinks they have everything.
