The Festival of Place is a celebration of Sydney's and New South Wales' public spaces. The Festival will take place for the next 12 months and will feature a fun and exciting program that highlights the importance and beauty of New South Wales' public spaces.

The Festival will also encourage people to re-emerge and engage safely with public spaces through a wide range of programs.

The program will include:

* Sydney Square Dance:

Darling Harbour will transform into a dance fest this April with the Sydney Square Dance. The event will showcase interactive classes, workshops, and performances, dance battles, dance cinema featuring dance-related films, dance shuffles, and more.

* Dance Locale:

This event will feature watching five films that will celebrate public space's beauty and diversity in Greater Sydney and rural New South Wales.

*** Public Spaces Ideas Competition (Winners announced):
**
The Festival partnered up with the Committee for Sydney to ask the public for ideas about transforming public spaces across Greater Sydney. There were more than 500 entries, and this event will showcase the winners.

* Summer Night Walks:

This screening event will see Tim Ross inviting leading thinkers, artists, comedians, performers, and public figures to take him on a 'Summer Night Walk' to a special place in their neighbourhoods.

* Places to Love:

This program will feature demonstration projects that create and test concepts for better public spaces across New South Wales.

* NSW Public Spaces Charter:

The Public Spaces Charter has been developed to support the planning, design, management and activation of public spaces in New South Wales.

* Falling in Love with your Country:

This podcast series will feature stories of place hosted by Wiradjuri/Kamilaroi artist Jonathan Jones.

This event will feature 100 stories about the people who care for our public spaces on the ground in a year of great turmoil, silver linings and struggles.

* Summer Fund:

There will be a wide range of free and safe family-friendly activities and events for everyone to enjoy. These will include New Annual Art Markets in Newcastle, Philip Lane Outdoor Dining Project in Parramatta, and more.
