Want to help make a difference? Want to show your support for an organisation which is working on the ground in Afghanistan to provide support to women and girls through education and training? Then support a good cause and join AADO for lunch as they celebrate the Afghan New Year 1394 on Sunday 19th March as part of their annual 'Nowroz' celebration.
As part of the $50 ticket, you will enjoy a traditional Afghan New Year Drink on arrival, a buffet spread from the Afghan Gallery and take part in a curated auction. There will also be a selection of wines and beers sold at bar prices.
The day's celebrations will be held at a beautiful historic home in Ascot Vale just 5 km north-west of the city. This home has been opened to the public for this special occasion.
The event promises to be the perfect day out for friends and family with all proceeds raised directed to support core AADO programs in Afghanistan.
The Afghan Australian Development Organisation (AADO) provides education and vocational training in Afghanistan for those with minimal opportunities, particularly women and girls, to develop professional skills thereby fostering sustainable livelihoods
AADO respects Afghan culture and traditions, prides itself on minimising overhead costs and distributing close to 100% of its financial resources directly to development projects. AADO employs a small local project management team and field staff, and create formal and non-formal educational opportunities for disadvantaged Afghans.
To book tickets visit the AADO website. If you are unable to attend the lunch you might consider donating to this worthwhile cause.
