Last week I attended a Flavour Tasting at the freshly revamped Greek Club's .

Opened only a week ago, Nostimo is already becoming a fast favourite. In fact it was likely the best flavour tasting event I have attended. The ambience, the share nature of Greek cuisine and the staff allowed for a relaxing meal and exceedingly pleasant conversation. I don't think any one of us wanted to leave.

The Chef in Residence is the internationally acclaimed Sydney-based Greek Ccef, David Tsirekas, He has successfully incorporated his flair for creating flavoursome traditional Greek cuisine with a modern twist.

Located at 29 Edmondstone St, South Brisbane, Nostimo's outdoor seating has a gorgeous park view and city backdrop. The $3 million refurbishment has created a wonderful holiday ambience through modern day Mediterranean décor and clever design.

White walls, arched terracotta tiles and a show stopping 15,000 Greek worry beads (Komboloi) adorn the ceiling in the entrance and the private dining room, as well as the booth seating area.

The genuine Greek hospitality displayed by the entire staff is another giant tick! Clearly leading by example, we were welcomed with a huge smile by Kostas, the Nostimo Restaurant Bar manager. He is not only friendly, but also a wealth of knowledge.

I think you would all agree that a great setting and exceptional service is nothing without a menu to match. No need to pull out your worry beads, Nostimo's menu has something for everyone.

The menu is made up of all your favourite traditional flavours combined with chef's magic touch. It's a great introduction to modern Greek cuisine. On the menu you will find, Swordfish, Pork belly, Pita and Dips, Zucchini fritters, Lentil and sweet potato moussaka, Vine Dolmades, Kefalograviera (Cheese) with caramelised figs and crushed almonds and Hortopita.

There are also vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free options.

Did someone say dessert?
The hardest part is picking just one. I recommend you order one each and play nice. I loved the Bougatsa - it's a custard wrapped in filo with strawberry sauce and mixed berries. There is also stuffed roasted apple, rice pudding with poached quince, and the decadent ice cream dessert pictured below.

There is, of cours,e a great list of cocktails, wine and beer available. The entire dining experience was so wonderful that I have already booked a table for another visit.
