Avoid the crowds, and see Santa make his grand arrival
If your kids can't handle the crowds at the Pageant in town, or you can't be bothered waking early to fight for your spot in the City, or parking is going to be a challenge, why not come to the Norwood Christmas Pageant instead. Adelaide's premier non-CBD Christmas Pageant will be held at 10am on Saturday 22nd November along The Parade at Norwood.
The Norwood Christmas Pageant, now in its 37th year, is held entirely for the enjoyment of the community and is widely regarded as one of Adelaide's most popular and authentic community pageants with participants coming from most areas and sectors within the City of Norwood, Payneham and St Peters.
The Pageant attracts an audience of over 20,000 people who line The Parade at Norwood to celebrate the spirit of Christmas as they watch more than 100 floats roll by in a spectacular sea of red, green and white.
More than 20 bands, including Dr Burt's One Man Band, Payneham City Concert Band and the South Australian Pipes and Drums Band provide families with entertainment throughout the day, culminating in the arrival of Father Christmas.
And while you are there on The Parade, why not support the local traders who have engaged extra staff and have stocked up on extra supplies in readiness for the Pageant crowd. There are plenty of good coffee shops on The Parade, as well as a wide range of food outlets to suit kids of all ages.
