Nicola was the escort for my son and she told me favourite thing to do was to ride horses. She was beaming and chatting all the way. Karen said she also prefers one on one rides. Our first stop was the professional arena area where we had a quick safety lesson to learn how to stop and steer.
Norwich Park Equestrian currently has four horses but they plan to add two more in the future and they are toying with the idea of agistment. They obviously work a 24 hour day because Karen told me that in their spare time they are renovating a two bedroom house on the property for overnight stays. The spot is high on the hill, quiet and peaceful. What a great idea for a weekend away for horse lovers. They also have two dogs named Zoe and Pippa. They are friendly and part of the entertainment. I've never seen happier dogs running around and chasing rabbits.
Lots to do at Norwich Park Equestrian - Fees
The school holiday program is only $95 for four hours (half a day). The trail rides are only $75 for an hour and lessons $75 an hour. This is cheaper than the other horse riding schools in the region. In addition, they bend over backwards to cater to individuals. See more information on their website.
Please don't be offended that the weight limit is 65 to 70 kg. This is due to the weight that the horses can take.
So if you like the idea of a led trail ride through the bush at a beautiful new boutique equestrian facility in Warrandyte, just on the edge of Melbourne, give Karen a call. I'm sure you will be thrilled with the experience.
