There will be free cooking demonstrations from the Masters of Italian cuisine throughout the day. Talented chefs will demonstrate and prepare authentic Italian dishes from various regions of Italy and share their passion for Italian food. The Nonnas will once again be cooking their delicious home made dishes. There will be an opportunity to taste the fabulous dishes that the chefs and nonnas produce. Chef Enzo Guarino, winner of the pilot program of My Kitchen Rules, will be the MC for the celebrity cooking stage which includes Luciano and Martino, The Italianos from My Kitchen Rules, Francesco Spataro, celebrity pizza chef, plus many more. The Leichhardt Long Long Lunch will again feature at the Festa with long communal tables to indulge in the best of Italian cookery.
As well as celebrating 30 years of Norton Street Italian Festa, this event day coincides with Grandparents Day in New South Wales so bring the whole family for a great day out tasting the best in products, food and coffee and don't forget the delicious gelato. One of the highlights of Festa are the many samples for visitors to try on the day.
Entertainment on the Main Stage will include Nina Ferro, fresh from her sensational appearance on The Voice 2016; the multi-talented band, Zumpa; the music and warmth of the trio, Mocambo Jam, plus many more. Families will have fun at the football clinics, see demonstrations of NSW freestyle football, and watch bubble soccer games.
As though all the above activities were not enough to entice you, there will be a Fashion Hub at the Town Hall featuring fashion, beauty and art & crafts; and an Antiques Show at Pioneers Memorial Park from 11am to 1pm, where you can bring your antiques and collectibles for a free appraisal by experts.
As well as all the food, fun and lively atmosphere, Festa will also showcase the largest collection of Italian cars, motorbikes and scooters ever assembled in New South Wales as part of Auto Festa. For the 'big kids' in us all who dream about driving an Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati or a Vespa, the Auto Festa will be held in Pioneers Memorial Park on Norton Street.
