Flowers have a powerful effect on how we feel with studies showing that just being around flowers help us feel less stressed, more compassionate, more energetic and happier in general. In a quest for find just the ideal bouquet of flowers, a friend suggested that I should visit the Northside Flower Market at Stafford. Located in a semi-industrial styled area and a neighbour to Bunnings Warehouse at Stafford, the Northside Flower Market is a floral wonderland just 10Km from Brisbane's CBD sure to uplift the mood of any visitor. I was pleased to learn that the Northside Flower Market is a family-owned business run by husband and wife team Kim Dodwell and Brendan Nolan.
My visit coincided with the Mother's Day weekend so I was met by an array of freshly cut bunches of beautiful blooms in a canopy set up outside the entrance of the shop. Apart from this special day, Northside Flower Market has blooms suited for any occasion – birthdays, farewells, congratulations or just because. Inside the market are bunches of ready assembled bouquets taking the hard work out of assembling.
One of the staff suggested that I might like to also explore the cold room at the back of the shop where guests are welcome to wander through the kaleidoscope of fragrant, floral treasures. From individual stems of radiant roses to bunches of pretty peonies and lovely lilies and lisianthus, there was a vast assortment of flowers to choose from. The team of Northside stylists are on hand to give immediate advice or available for bookings to discuss floral needs for events (like weddings and corporate functions). If you can't make it to Stafford, the online store also makes shopping easy.
More than just flowers Along with classic flowers, Northside Flower Market also stock a range of hardy, easy to grow succulents from $9.00 I also spotted a display of Ecoya products such as diffusers, candles, and lotions to add a touch more to the sensory overload. Northside Flower Market is open 7 days with a shared parking area at the front of the shop to make it easy to find your perfect bouquet.
Who wouldn't be happy giving or receiving a bunch of these
